Mood Nº1

May 19, 2015

Inspired by the colors and life of Spring, I decided to shoot these flowers at my grandma's a few weeks ago. I thought it's very strange, how we don't notice things that have been under our nose for a long time, and suddenly they fade away. That's what happened to me with all these beautiful flowers. I was always aware of them, but not of their beauty.

And now, they're all dying. And my grandma's moving. Ironic, no? Well, I think this post just got too nostalgic and sentimental. I just wanted to share some thoughts. Hope you have a lovely day!

Casa Alfarera

December 03, 2014

One day, I was walking in the Colonial City, like I usually do. I was walking down the Padre Billini Street (one of my favorites). And then suddenly, I came across this beautiful shop, Casa Alfarera.

Casa Alfarera is an experimental ceramics workshop created by Ysabela Molini.

I've never met someone like Ysabela before. She's so passionate about what she does, and that's a quality I really admire. She puts a lot of dedication into creating all these beautiful ceramics, it's just amazing. The way she speaks about the materials she uses and the creative process is just impressive.

The colors, the textures, the beauty, the simplicity... It all comes together in this gorgeous place. Also, her team is full of hard-working people who are as passionate as her about creating beautiful yet functional pieces for daily life.

I'll make sure to write another post about that :)

P.S.: Make sure to check Ysabela's instagram account, you'll love it.
P.S.S: This weekend, she'll have a special sale. Make sure to visit!

Sunnies

June 16, 2014

I know, I know... I talked about Persols last week, but these are probably the most perfect sunglasses I've ever seen.

I'm not sure if some of you have watched 'North by Northwest' with Cary Grant, but it's one of the most stylish films on Earth. I swear.

Well anyway, I was very distracted with the sunglasses that Cary Grant wore on the movie. They're just amazing! Don't you think? Since the day I watched it, I've been looking for a similar pair to wear this Summer. I found these, but I'm still not sure.

What do you think?

Current inspiration

April 07, 2014

Happy Monday! I hope you're all having a great start of the week and I also hope you had a nice weekend! I know it's been a while since the last time I did this, but I wanted to share my current inspiration with you. I created another moodboard with a few images that are calling my attention, here it is.

As you can see, it's all about the details in these photos that make them so beautiful. I'm feeling very drawn into natural light, shadows and soft moments. I've changed the color palette just a little bit this time. I'd say it's my Spring moodboard, even if it doesn't look like Spring that much. What do you think? Do you like it? You can see more of what's inspiring me here.

January 06, 2014

Hello there!!

Happy New Year! Yes, yes... I'm late. But, better late than never, right? Well, I hope you're having a great start, and I hope you can forgive for being absent (yes, I'm apologizing again).

Well, I spent last week at my grandparent's house in the countryside, like I always do for the Holiday Season. I got time to relax, disconnect, draw, laugh and even to take a swim in the pool.

But ahh to be honest, I don't have anything planned for this year. I was talking with Sarah about that the other day, my friends have lots of plans, resolutions and super long lists. But me, I don't have a single plan. It's just not my thing...

What about you? What are your resolutions for this year? Let me know!

Winter Inspiration

December 23, 2013

Hello there!!

Yeahh, I know I haven't been the best at keeping this blog up. So, please forgive me. The thing is that there's not much going on right now and I'm trying to create as much original content as possible.

Well, as you can see, I did a bit of a re-design here. Nothing big, but I like it and I think it looks a bit cleaner than before, no? Well, that's the result of sleepless nights and 6 (ok, maybe 7) mugs of coffee a day. I know right!

The Artists' Market

December 02, 2013

Last weekend, I went with my friend Sarah to the Artists' Market of San Francisco de Macorís, which is a town in the North of the country. We had quite an adventure, I have to say. We spent like one and a half hour on the bus to get there.

Anyway, remember Isis? Yeah, the super talented photographer. She's the one that came with the idea, and she organizes everything. There's art, music, books, fashion, food... Everything! Amazing, isn't it?

Unfortunately, we had to go a bit early, but I honestly can't wait for the next Market, I bet it will be as good as this one, maybe even better! :)

Quitasueño Studios

October 28, 2013

After talking a lot about it and uploading photos to Instagram , it's finally time to show you some pictures of my visit to the film set I told you about!

So, last month I was invited to this Studio, to see a little preview of the set and how everything was going to be organized for the film. I still can't believe it. I felt so honored to be there and just talk about how things were going to be. Ahhh..
To be honest, I love taking pictures of interiors and all that. So when I entered there, I kind of felt like I was in heaven. No, really. The set was very organized, very bohemian and well designed. I loved it.

Sadly, I can't talk about the movie right now but let me tell you something, it's going to be awesomeee. Ohh, I'm thinking about making a short film right now, what do you think?

Signed: Victor, the guy who still dreams about filmmaking.

Military... Seen at the 27th Biennal of Visual Arts

October 11, 2013

As I told you, I was hypnotized with all the beautiful art that I saw at the 27th Biennial of Visual Arts.

Okay, let me tell you. This is one of my favorite artworks from the Biennial.

I love it. Remember when we talked about the camo trend? Well, this immediatly reminded me of this when I saw it. And you know what? The red and grey details also remind me of the Valentino Spring 2013 collection. Don't you think?

The only thing is, I forgot the artist's name, ugh. Well anyway... What do you think? Do you like it?

Weekend Diaries XIV

September 21, 2013

Hey there!

Yesterday I went to the Colonial Zone of my country and here are some of the pictures I told you I was going to take. It was quite a good day and I actually loved it!

I went there with my friend Paulette and we walked like never before, seriously. I got there at 11 am and we visited a lot of places. We discovered a lot of new places and it was great. So, let me tell you a little bit about the exploring day that was....

ZARA AW13 Woman

August 02, 2013

Okay. This video is perfect. Caroline Brasch, Juliane Gruner, Julia Nobis and Ashleigh Good did a perfect job when modeling for it. The way they're running, the dramatic yet modern music, everything is just marvelous.

I don't normally blog about womenswear but I thought this season's collection is great. We've seen a lot of inspiration from big fashion houses like Céline, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent for this season. The looks are great and I personally think that plaid red jacket is fantastic, as well as the hats and the coats, they look pretty cool

I also wonder why are the models running... I mean it looks so cool, but maybe it's a resemblance for this season's dramatic weather and clothes. What do you think it may mean?

Inspired: Kris Van Assche SS14 backstage

July 31, 2013

Kris Van Assche is such a good designer, his collections won't stop surprising me. And I personally loved what he did for his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, the way he focused on simple, strong and solid colors was just great as well as the polka dots and the minimal look (I'm such a fool for minimalism, but you already know that).

Well, moving to another subject... ...I wanted to talk about how much I love these pictures, I think Dirk Alexander did such a great job when capturing the backstage moments. When I first looked at the pictures, I thought it was for a campaign or something like that, but then I realized they were just the backstage pictures! Cool no?

What do you think about Kris Van Assche SS14 collection?

On the Street... Apec University, SDQ

July 24, 2013

So, I was taking more university exams last monday as I told you. So far I've met great people. After I finished, I decided to take a walk with my friends. The campus seemed very nice to me, it's pretty big and you can get to the other buildings very easily.

When we were walking, I suddenly heard the sound of a violin. My friend said to me 'look at that, that's awesome!'. It was indeed, I saw this violinist playing a really nice melody so I took a picture of her.

It reminded me of the days that I used to play the guitar, but sadly I don't do it anymore.

What about you? Do you play any instruments? Let me know!

Inspired XI

July 16, 2013

Hello! I've been a bit away for a few weeks, but trust me, that happened for good reasons (I'll tell you eventually). There's been a lot going on, a lot of good things. I finally graduated from high school and I'll enter university on September (wooo, things happen quickly).

Well, here's some kind of board of images that are inspiring me at the moment and I wanted to share with you, as always. Right now, I'm feeling inspired by very bright colors, beaches and all those summer-y things. I've been trying to take as many pictures like these as I can, I'll show you the results later. Meanwhile, if you want to see more inspiring photos, you can always check my Pinterest.

When I first saw these Pull & Bear images for their Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, I felt like they were just taken for a movie poster or something haha.

Little talks: Isis Piña

February 27, 2013

Last weekend, I had the chance to meet the super-duper incredible and amazing photographer, Isis Piña. She's 17 years old. When I discovered her, it was totally crazy. Her photos and her writing started to inspire me very quickly.

We have the same love for visual arts and music, so that means we could talk for hours about those things!

Her work is so fascinating, that I wanted to ask her a few questions to get to know her even better.

Inspired X

November 11, 2012

Hello! I know, I promised you guys I was going to update this blog as soon as I could. It's just... School's driving me crazy!! But you've heard enough about that. Well, here it is.

It's been a while since my last 'inspired' post. That's because I couldn't find any inspiring images to post here, but now I did! I've been looking for images on Tumblr, Pinterest and sites like that. But at the end, I will always get my inspiration from the magical world of Flickr.

But Victor!!! Only two images?!   ...Sadly, yes. These are the images that are inspiring the most right now, I guess it's because of the season, they feel kind of cold and warm at the same time and I love the cinematic atmosphere they have. Ahhh, I wish it snowed in my country. Well, I have to go now. I need to finish my homework (arghhh).

Have a nice day!
